Humanities Pre-AP Workshop
for middle and high school English and Social Studies teachers

This one-day workshop will focus on strategies and structures for using higher-level thinking to improve engagement and achievement in the pre-AP humanities classroom.  Topics will include close reading and writing strategies, active participation, lesson dynamics, use of time, and writing-to-learn.  Participants will leave with structures and strategies they can employ immediately, as well as plans for future units.  Participants should bring materials for a unit or lesson they want to revise or develop.
